Enric Pryde is a human First Order officer from Alsakan, played by Richard E. Grant in The Rise of Skywalker (2019). Born in 27 BBY, he served in the Imperial Navy, saw Darth Vader work at first hand, survived Endor, and went into the Unknown Regions after the Empire's final defeat at Jakku.
The old guard
Pryde exists to make a point the sequel trilogy had otherwise left implicit: the First Order is not a new movement. Its senior ranks are staffed by men who lost the Galactic Civil War as young officers and spent three decades preparing to re-fight it. Where Hux is a child of that exile, Pryde is one of the people who created it.
Loyalty to a dead man
He had been a covert servant of the returned Palpatine throughout, which reframes his deference to Kylo Ren entirely: he was never taking the Supreme Leader's side, he was waiting. When Ren makes him Allegiant General, he takes command of the First Order's ground and naval forces; when Hux is exposed as the Resistance's informant, Pryde shoots him without ceremony.
Exegol
Given the Final Order fleet at Exegol in 35 ABY, he loses it. Resistance forces destroy his flagship, the Steadfast, with him aboard, and the Sith fleet never leaves the planet. Richard E. Grant plays the whole part as a man enormously relieved to finally be working for the real employer again.
