Moden Canady is a human First Order officer, played by Mark Lewis Jones in The Last Jedi (2017). He served in the Imperial Starfleet before the Empire's collapse and captained the Fulminatrix, a Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought, at the Battle of D'Qar.

Ordered by General Hux to bombard the Resistance base, he protested that his ship's point defences had not been deployed and was overruled. Poe Dameron destroyed the surface cannons; Paige Tico's bomber got through and dropped its payload down the dreadnought's spine. Canady stayed aboard and died with his crew. He is the film's one-scene argument that the First Order's problem is the same as the Empire's: the people who know what they are doing take orders from the people who do not.
