Azlin Rell is a human Jedi Knight on a service tour of the Outer Rim in 382 BBY, travelling with an astromech designated C-9 and a long friendship with the Wookiee Jedi Arkoff, who had once been his master. He is written, in Path of Deceit, as almost aggressively ordinary: helpful, self-effacing, competent, doing the small jobs.
He is one of the very few characters to bridge Phase II and Phase I in person rather than in memory. By the time of Midnight Horizon he has survived the Nameless and is kept, damaged and dangerous, as a source on creatures the Order refuses to name — the initiative's clearest demonstration of what 150 years of institutional forgetting costs.
