Baylan Skoll is a human former Jedi Knight and General who survived Order 66 and now works as a mercenary, introduced in the first episode of the Disney+ series Ahsoka (2023). He was played by Ray Stevenson, in the actor's final role before his death in May 2023.

Neither Sith nor Jedi

The character is built specifically to sit outside both categories. Baylan takes contracts, trains an apprentice in Shin Hati, and carries an orange-red blade that is neither the Jedi standard nor a Sith crystal. He is not serving an ideology; he is looking for something, and the series is unusually patient about not telling you what.

His actual grievance

What he says, when he says anything, is that the Jedi Order failed — that the institution collapsed because it deserved to, and that the galaxy keeps rebuilding the same structures and getting the same result. He wants to end the cycle rather than win it, which puts him closer to Kreia than to any Sith on this list.

Peridea

His arc ends the first season standing in front of a statue on a world in another galaxy, following a power described in old Force mythology. Stevenson's death left that thread unresolved, and how the series continues it is one of the open questions in current canon.
