Bruck Chun is a human Jedi initiate from Telos IV, created by Dave Wolverton for Jedi Apprentice: The Rising Force (Scholastic, 1999) as Obi-Wan Kenobi's rival in the Temple training halls. What starts as sparring-mat antagonism curdles across the series: he is recruited by Xanatos — who is also from Telos — and helps him infiltrate the Jedi Temple in The Captive Temple, where Bruck dies.
He is a small character doing a specific job, and the series is unusually unsentimental about him. The Order produced a boy who was not quite good enough, could not tell him so kindly, and lost him to the first adult who offered him a role. That is a criticism of the Jedi that the Legends children's line made twenty years before the animated series got around to it.
