BT-1 is a blastomech prototype — an astromech shell built as a dedicated assassination platform — created by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca and introduced alongside 0-0-0 in Marvel's Darth Vader #3 (25 March 2015).

Where Triple-Zero is the joke about C-3PO, BT-1 is the joke about R2-D2: same silhouette, same beeps, every hidden compartment loaded. He does not speak in any register the reader can parse, which leaves Triple-Zero to translate — and the translations are, invariably, worse than whatever was actually said.
