CC-2224, called Cody, is a clone marshal commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, first appearing in Revenge of the Sith (2005) and voiced by Dee Bradley Baker throughout The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. He commanded the 212th Attack Battalion under Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Utapau
He is the clone the audience most associates with Order 66, because his is the version we see happen to a character we care about. On Utapau, minutes after handing Kenobi back his lightsaber, Cody receives the encrypted transmission that activates his inhibitor chip and orders an AT-TE to fire on the general he has fought beside for three years. He believes for some time afterwards that he killed him.
Imperial service
Cody stayed on. He served the Empire as a stormtrooper, including in the pacification of Kashyyyk — the clone commanders were the transitional generation, the men who made the Republic's army into the Empire's without a break in the roster.
Desix
The Bad Batch gives him the ending. On a mission to Desix he watches an Imperial officer execute a surrendering governor, asks his squadmate whether the clones are actually improving anything, and goes absent without leave overnight. No speech, no confrontation. He simply stops, which for a soldier engineered from birth to obey is the most radical act available.
The two continuities
Cody exists in both. The Legends version, developed in the Republic comics and the 2003 Clone Wars microseries, has no inhibitor chip — the clones' obedience to Order 66 was straightforward loyalty rather than implanted compulsion. Canon's chip is a considerable softening, and which version you prefer says a lot about how you read the clones.
