Darth Venamis is a Bith Sith apprentice, trained in secret by Darth Tenebrous as a contingency in case Darth Plagueis proved inadequate. He appears in James Luceno's Legends novel Darth Plagueis (Del Rey, 2012).
Plagueis defeats him, and then does not kill him: Venamis spends years held in an induced coma as a living subject for the midi-chlorian experiments that define Plagueis's career. It is the single most disturbing thing in the novel, and the clearest statement of what "the Sith study the Force" actually means in Luceno's hands. Star Wars Legends.
