Magna Tolvan is an Imperial officer created by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca, introduced in Doctor Aphra #3. She is put on the trail of Chelli Aphra and spends much of the series' run pursuing her.
The relationship that develops between them is one of the more consequential things the Marvel line has done with its own continuity — a serving Imperial and a rogue archaeologist, on opposite sides of a manhunt, and the book treats it as a genuine romance rather than a joke about enemies. It is also, in practice, the thing that makes Tolvan's Imperial career untenable.
