Nen Yim is a Yuuzhan Vong shaper, introduced in Greg Keyes's Edge of Victory I: Conquest (Del Rey, 2001) as adept to Master Shaper Mezhan Kwaad on Yavin 4, and later a Master Shaper in her own right.
She is the invasion's scientist and its heretic. Yuuzhan Vong biotechnology is governed by sacred, closed protocols; when a dying worldship presents a problem the protocols cannot solve, Nen Yim improvises, which in her civilisation is blasphemy punishable by death. The series uses her to make the argument that the Yuuzhan Vong are losing because their theology forbids them to learn. She mortally wounds Nom Anor before dying herself.
