Paige Tico is a human female gunner in the Resistance bomber corps and the sister of Rose Tico. Both were born on Hays Minor, a small world in the Otomok system stripped by the First Order. She appears in the opening battle of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), releasing her bomber’s payload onto a First Order dreadnought as her ship comes apart around her.
Her death is the engine of everything her sister does for the rest of the film, and it is also the film’s first argument: the sequence is a victory that costs the entire bomber wing, and the whole picture is subsequently about whether that trade was worth making.
