Paz Vizsla is a heavy-infantry Mandalorian of the Nevarro covert, voiced by Jon Favreau and performed by Tait Fletcher in The Mandalorian from 2019. StarWars.com describes "a brawny warrior encased in the strongest beskar armor" and "a descendant of the esteemed House Vizsla", from "a long line of leaders spanning the centuries".
The name is the character
House Vizsla is the line that produced Tarre Vizsla — the first Mandalorian inducted into the Jedi Order, and the maker of the Darksaber — as well as Pre Vizsla, the Death Watch leader who carried the blade into the modern canon. Paz's whole standing rests on an inheritance, which the series treats as both genuinely significant and slightly beside the point.
Antagonist, then brother
He picks a fight with Din Djarin in his first scene over taking Imperial beskar, and then covers Din's retreat when the covert is exposed. That pattern holds: Paz objects loudly, on principle, and then does the thing anyway. In The Book of Boba Fett he duels Din for the Darksaber, invoking the family claim, and loses.
How he goes out
His last stand in the third season — holding a corridor alone against a squad of Imperials so the others can withdraw — is the show's clearest statement of what the creed is actually for. The character spends four years being the covert's loudest objector and dies as its most literal servant.
