Shae Koda is a human Je'daii of Tython, still only a Journeyer when the Rakatan ship Devourer crashes on the planet in 25,793 BBY. She is among the first to reach the wreck and the one who finds Xesh in it, and she spends the rest of the series arguing that a dark-side weapon can be a person.
She rises to Je'daii Ranger, fights through the Infinite Empire's invasion of the Tython system, becomes romantically involved with Xesh, and the two of them walk into the Silent Desert together when the war ends. In an era whose whole point is that light and dark were once a single discipline, Koda is the character who has to live the argument rather than debate it.
