Ushos O. Statura is a human male veteran officer of the Resistance, played by Ken Leung in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). He is the officer at the D’Qar briefing who works out that the weapon’s thermal oscillator can be attacked — the sequel trilogy’s version of the job Jan Dodonna did in 1977.
It is a small part with an outsized structural role. Somebody in a Star Wars film has to stand in front of a hologram and tell the pilots what is possible, and Statura is the reason the assault on Starkiller Base has a shape.
