Zam Wesell is a Clawdite changeling assassin from Zolan, played by Leeanna Walsman in Attack of the Clones (2002). StarWars.com summarises her briefly and completely: a shape-shifting Clawdite "could assume any humanoid form", and Jango Fett hired her to kill Senator Padmé Amidala on Coruscant.
Two attempts, both failed
She destroys Padmé's starship on approach and misses her; she then sends kouhuns into the senator's apartment and misses again. The pursuit that follows — Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi chasing her airspeeder down through Coruscant traffic to the Outlander Club — is the film's best set piece and the reason anyone remembers her.
The saberdart
Her death is the plot. Cornered and about to name her employer, she is shot from above with a Kaminoan saberdart by Jango himself. The dart is the clue that sends Obi-Wan to Kamino, discovers the clone army, and starts the Clone Wars. Zam Wesell has perhaps four minutes of screen time and the entire prequel trilogy turns on her being murdered before she can finish a sentence.
A design that outlasted the part
The character is a rare prequel case of a wholly practical effect — a masked performer with a reveal — rather than a digital creation, and the Clawdite ability to change shape was rich enough that Legends and canon material both kept returning to her. She has been a recurring figure in comics and games far out of proportion to her film role.
