Zeen Mrala is a Force-sensitive Mikkian born around 247 BBY on Trymant IV and raised in a commune of the Elders of the Path, a sect holding that the Force must never be touched by any living thing. She spent her childhood suppressing what she could do, terrified of it, with only her friend Krix Kamerat for company — and he did not know.
When the Great Hyperspace Disaster and a Nihil raid hit Trymant IV at once, she catches a falling slab beside the Padawan Lula Talisola and is exposed in front of everyone she knows. The friendship with Krix breaks; the relationship with Lula begins. The Elders of the Path are, not coincidentally, the doctrinal descendants of the Path of the Open Hand from Phase II, which makes her personal crisis the whole initiative in miniature.
