Ziro is a Hutt crime figure and the uncle of Jabba the Hutt, introduced in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars feature film and voiced by Corey Burton. He is instantly distinguishable from every other Hutt on screen — mauve, tattooed, effete and voluble, in a species otherwise played entirely as slow menace.
The conspiracy
StarWars.com lays out the plot precisely: Ziro conspired with Count Dooku to kidnap Jabba's son Rotta, "reasoning that when the Jedi sent to retrieve Rotta died, the Republic would be forced to apprehend Jabba, leading to Ziro gaining control of their clan". It is a genuinely well-constructed piece of scheming — a frame job designed to make a rival's arrest look like galactic law rather than a family matter — and it is the engine of the entire film.
Prisoner, asset, liability
The conspiracy collapses and Ziro is imprisoned on Coruscant, where he becomes a problem for everyone: he knows the Hutt Council's business and the Republic has him in a cell. The Council hires Cad Bane to break him out — not to save him, but to take possession of him — and Bane's Senate hostage operation is mounted for exactly that purpose.
The exit
He escapes the Hutts as well, and the databank's closing line is one of the better sentences StarWars.com has written: "Ziro escaped the Hutts, but could not outrun his past." He is killed shortly afterwards, having spent his entire run being passed between captors who each want him for a different reason.
