Maximilian Rebo is an Ortolan musician, leader of the Max Rebo Band, the blue-skinned keyboardist playing a red ball organ in Jabba the Hutt's palace at the opening of Return of the Jedi (1983). The running joke, established in the film's supporting material, is that he negotiated the band's residency for room and board rather than a fee — Ortolans are driven almost entirely by appetite, and he regarded a lifetime food supply as a triumph of business. The band's line-up differs between the 1983 release and the 1997 Special Edition, which added the "Jedi Rocks" number and several new members; the original trio was Rebo, the singer Sy Snootles and the Kitonak horn player Droopy McCool. He is first identified as Maximilian in the anthology From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi. Current canon.
