Mister Bones is a B1-series battle droid — Separatist surplus from a war that ended twenty years earlier — salvaged and heavily modified by the teenage Temmin Wexley on Akiva, and serving as his bodyguard in Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath (Del Rey, 2015).
He is the trilogy’s best joke and its most efficient piece of worldbuilding at once. The galaxy after Endor is full of leftover hardware and leftover people, and a boy with a workshop can turn the era’s most disposable machine into something loyal, lethal and slightly unhinged. He is part of Norra Wexley’s team alongside Jas Emari and Jom Barell.
