Vi Moradi is a Resistance operative introduced in Delilah S. Dawson’s Phasma (Del Rey, 2017), part of the publishing wave leading into The Last Jedi. She is on a scouting mission with her droid U5-GG — “Gigi” — checking hyperspace coordinates for First Order activity when the plot catches up with her.

The novel’s structure is why she matters. Phasma is an interrogation: Vi is captured, and the story of Captain Phasma’s origins is told through what Vi knows and what she chooses to say. That makes the Resistance spy, not the First Order officer, the narrating consciousness of a book with the officer’s name on the cover — a genuinely clever piece of construction and one of the more formally interesting things Del Rey has published in current canon.

She returns in Dawson’s Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire (Del Rey, 2019), sent by Leia to Batuu to establish a Resistance base — the novel that seeds Black Spire Outpost in the Disney parks, where the character also appears in person. It is the clearest case in modern Star Wars of a novel and a physical location built to explain each other.

Vi is current canon. Her homeworld is not stated here because it could not be confirmed against the sources reached for this entry.
