Vult Skerris is a human Imperial ace and flight instructor, voiced by Mario Vernazza in Star Wars Rebels from the third-season episode "The Antilles Extraction" (8 October 2016). He taught at Skystrike Academy, hunted the defectors who fled it, and was promoted to commander under Grand Admiral Thrawn, flying prototype TIE Defenders and engaging Grysk forces at Batuu and Mokivj.
During the attack on Lothal in 1 BBY he chased Hera Syndulla in a TIE Defender Elite, ignored Thrawn's order to break off, and flew into the trap she had set for exactly that. With his shields down and his wings sheared away he collided with an Arquitens-class cruiser. His death effectively ended the Imperial blockade's air defence — a fighter pilot's ego costing a fleet its cover.
