Barash Silvain is a Kage Jedi Master from Quarzite who declared herself the sister of the Ikkrukkian Jedi Porter Engle. The two worked the Galactic Frontier together in 382 BBY, Engle specialising in combat and Silvain in reading intent, until a mission to the besieged city of Firevale on Gansevor went badly wrong.
Her response was to withdraw from the Order's work while remaining a Jedi, in order to commune with the Force alone — the practice that becomes known as the Barash Vow, which readers of Charles Soule's Darth Vader run will recognise. Soule created her for the 2022 Marvel miniseries The High Republic — The Blade; early concept art by Ario Anindito made her an Ikkrukkian and Engle's biological sister, an idea dropped before publication.
