Cay Qel-Droma is a human Jedi Knight from Alderaan, younger brother of Ulic and, like him, trained by Arca Jeth on Arkania. He is a mechanic as much as a warrior — he loses an arm early and rebuilds it himself, then keeps rebuilding, so that by the end of the series he is more prosthetic than not.

Unlike Ulic, he did not originate in Tom Veitch's Dark Empire endnotes; he was invented when Tales of the Jedi began. His function is to be the one person who never writes his brother off, and his death on Ossus in 3996 BBY — at Ulic's hand, in the middle of a battle Ulic started — is the moment the Great Sith War turns. He was voiced by Skip Lackey in the Tales of the Jedi audio dramas and by Jack Noseworthy in Dark Lords of the Sith.
