Cere Junda is a human Jedi Master created for Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (2019) and voiced by Debra Wilson. Her first published appearance is in print: she appears in flashback in Marvel's tie-in comic Jedi Fallen Order — Dark Temple #1, released ahead of the game, as the padawan of the archaeologist Jedi Eno Cordova.

Her backstory is the darkest thing in either game. Captured after Order 66 and tortured by the Empire, she broke — and gave up the location of her own padawan, Trilla Suduri, who was taken and remade into the Inquisitor known as the Second Sister. Cere then severed her own connection to the Force, not as penance but as containment, because of what she had reached for to survive.

That makes her mentorship of Cal Kestis something more complicated than a wise-master routine. She is training him partly because she cannot train herself, and she has already proved she will make the wrong choice under pressure. The game is honest that her judgement is compromised, and lets her be right anyway.

She is one of the strongest characters current canon has produced outside film and television, and one of very few Jedi Masters in any continuity written as somebody who failed comprehensively and unheroically, and kept working.
