Booster Terrik is a human male smuggler from Corellia, father of Mirax, grandfather of Valin and Jysella Horn, and the only civilian ever known to own and operate an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. He is a creation of the Bantam Spectra X-Wing novels and one of their best jokes taken entirely seriously.
The ship is the Errant Venture, and what he does with it is the point. A vessel designed as the most recognisable instrument of state terror in the galaxy is repainted red, stripped of most of its teeth, and turned into a shadowport and a mobile bazaar — a flying market with a casino and, eventually, a school aboard. It is the most Corellian object in Star Wars Legends.
Booster spent years in the Imperial spice mines of Kessel after a Corellian Security officer arrested him, which is the source of his grudge against the Horn family and of a great deal of the friction in the X-Wing books. He is loud, enormous, sentimental about his daughter and nobody else, and he keeps turning up whenever the New Republic needs something done that it cannot be seen doing.
By the Second Galactic Civil War the Errant Venture has become a refuge: Iella Wessiri, Mirax and others flee to it when Coruscant stops being safe. There is no canon equivalent, which is a pity — a repurposed Star Destroyer says more about what victory actually looks like than most of the war stories around it.
