Joph Seastriker is a pilot from Gatalenta who serves the New Republic as a lieutenant, and one of the small group around Senator Leia Organa in Claudia Gray’s Bloodline (Del Rey, 2016), alongside her chief of staff Greer Sonnel.
He is the novel’s generational device. Joph is young enough that the Empire is history to him, and Bloodline uses his enthusiasm — and his complete failure to anticipate what people are capable of — to show how thoroughly the New Republic has forgotten what it was built out of.
